Cornbelly's Pumpkin Patch

October 2012

"Mommy, come on! I look so silly"

They had an array of these wooden playhouses for sale. They had a bus, castle, train, ship, and car. One day I would love to get Rio one!

We all went to Cornbelly's to pick out pumpkins and play in all the great stuff they had set up for kids. It was amazing! They had so many fun things for kids to do and play on. Rio had a blast with Parker. Rio picked his first pumpkin- a white one! It was a bit chilly and we did not get to spend as much time as we would have liked, but Rio enjoyed himself nonetheless. It cost $10 to get in per person and I was dying of course :) but it is a tradition we want to continue in the future and we like supporting local events like this.

Rio Turns 1

September 23, 2012
For Rio's special day we hung out with the Joyners at their farm. It was so fun. Rio got to pet horses, baby chickens, jump on the tramp, pick vegetables in the garden, and hang out with his best buddy Parker. It was a wonderful day!

The Joyners always have the best Holiday decorations!

Wally was so amazing with Rio and patiently held the baby chick until Rio was ready to pet him. Rio loved all the animals. That's my boy!

Sisters don't need words.  They have perfected a language of snarls and smiles and frowns and winks - expressions of shocked surprise and incredulity and disbelief.  Sniffs and snorts and gasps and sighs - that can undermine any tale you're telling.  ~Pam Brown

“Jo's face was a study next day, for the secret rather weighed upon her, and she found it hard not to look mysterious and important. Meg observed it, but did not troubled herself to make inquiries, for she had learned that the best way to manage Jo was by the law of contraries, so she felt sure of being told everything if she did not ask.”
-Louisa May Alcott, Little Women

She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities.  She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway.  She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark.  She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink.  Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child.
